Summary/Abstract: This paper offers a profile of Henry Kissinger, the former US National Security advisor and Secretary of State. The basic ideas between Kissinger’s theory of diplomacy and his practical decision-making are analyzed by means of a dual profile, of Kissinger the academic and Kissinger the politician. The author also analyzes the reasons for Kissinger’s world-wide popularity, which has two faces: while some hold his international theories in high regard and aver that he is one of the major statesmen and intellectuals of the twentieth century, others believe that he deserves only to be called a war criminal. The profile concludes by asking what chances there are that Henry Kissinger will ever be indicted for war crimes.
