Summary/Abstract: The aim of the present article is to analyse the contemporary university education by examining its educational model and for the purposes of this essay the pattern is understood as the modern citizen. Hence, this paper attempts to point out and cast fresh light on the origins of the phenomena which are invisible as they have become an inherent part of our reality. Significant for these insights is the concept of the bourgeoisie and Nietzsche’s criticism of it as well. Furthermore, it is essential to distinguish a bourgeois style of life from way of being and to remember that it constituted – as a scheme of thinking – the university in the 19th century.
