SOCIAL CAUSES OF ALCOHOL ABUSE AMONG THE YOUTH

Summary/Abstract: The authors analyze social causes of alcohol abuse among the youth. Alcohol consumption and its consequences are examined within all aspects in many countries as being a complex medical and social problem. Alcohol abuse among children and the young has drawn a particular attention. This socio- pathological occurrence cannot be discussed in general terms as it is caused by social and cultural specifics of the population examined. With specific reference to alcohol abuse among the youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina, our goal is to demonstrate the extent of this problem present among the youth today.
