Romanian Realities and Perspectives in the Context of the World Economic Crisis

Summary/Abstract: The realities of the Romanian economy during the current world economic crisis are analyzed in this article. Data on the condition of the economy for the period 2009-2010 is presented: GDP; non–governmental costs; deposits; the budget deficit; the balance of payment; external debt; inflation; competitiveness. The condition of the exchange rate, prices, unemployment, and direct foreign investments are also analyzed. The author comes to the conclusion that the crisis from 2009-2011 once again attracted the attention of Romanian society, highlighting the necessity for profound change.
