Summary/Abstract: Politics, culture and economy of the whole Bosnia are reflected in Sarajevo. Until Sarajevo practically and symbolically held political ideal of Bosnia as a pluralistic society, centrifugal forces of anti-Bosnianhood, it is possible to oppose the detection, rehabilitation and strengthening of the idea of Bosnia as an integrated society with full individual and collective freedom of its members. This paper will present the most important phenomena of degradation of the Sarajevo’s symbolic meanings in Bosnian society and its state. The absence of a clear political, cultural and economic vision of Sarajevo as the capital of the Bosnian state, can be demonstrated in a various phenomena of political and cultural reductionism. The only architectural response to this situation is to reaffirm Sarajevo as a topos with its men to preserve the ideals of a pluralistic Bosnianhood.
