Summary/Abstract: The perception of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the Austro-Hungarian Empire can be followed through a literary narrative, cultural life, but also through concrete political measures. It was opened the possibility of questioning the term Orientalism and Colonialism within the post-colonial discourse as well as their use in the context of the Bosnian reality of that period. Realizing the narrative, but also the political measures taken by the Monarchy; how Bosnia and Herzegovina was oriental other in relation to the Monarchy and how colonial approach was readable in its case, and the relationship between centre and periphery, all that created the possibility for different perception of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian history as well as the space itself.
