Young and city

Summary/Abstract: The article is concerned with research into the youth in Gdansk high schools and universities completed in 2010. The results are discussed in two aspects: in comparison to urban space and social values and norms advocated by the respondents. Among other elements, the vision of an ideal city shared by the respondents is mentioned in the article. This vision, in particular, allows us to form the hypothesis on the future development trends of urban space. It also relates to elements such as directions of communication development, characteristic traits of buildings and development planning. In addition to this overall vision, we examine Gdansk citizens’ feelings towards their city as a functional area where they live and study.
