Application of the methods of multidimensional comparative analysis as a basis for parameters assignment of development potential of regions

Summary/Abstract: The article presents an application of two selected methods of multidimensional comparative analysis in parameters assignment of the development potential of regions in Poland. The first of the methods is based on the application of artificial neural Network – Kohonen Network, the second one involves cluster analysis using the method of Ward. Development potential has been tested in six dimensions – coherent with the philosophy of balanced development. The analysis of the obtained results was focused on creating groups of voivodeships with similar development potential and on analysis of the suitability of the tested methods application in a correct creation of uniform concentrations.
