Summary/Abstract: A poetical/philosophical juxtaposition of two strains of thought (Miron Białoszewski’s metaphysics of everyday occurrences and Emanuel Lévinas’s philosophical arguments on a relationship with existence) is grounded upon recognition of a stifling deadwood of existence in (one’s) being. The existence-taming strategies refer one to ‘pre-afterthought phenomena’ of laziness and weariness. It is them, together with the category of insomnia as anonymous vigilance, that prove a shared phenomenological perspective for Białoszewski and (the early) Lévinas. What is more, these contents of consciousness would assume the function of tropes of the existing and (the) existence; of anonymousness and emergence of an entity therefrom. The moment resolving for an entity to get constituted would nonetheless show that the road of Lévinas and that of Białoszewski have diverged.
