Space related problems of Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Summary/Abstract: Među krucijalnim problemima u radu i razvoju Arhive Bosne i Hercegovine, neadekvatne i nedovoljne prostorije su najakutnije i to nije riješeno ni danas. Od kada je Arhiva postala multifunkcionalna institucija, to je najbitniji problem sa profesionalnog aspekta jer ima direktan utjecaj na aktivnosti i postignuća Arhive. Problem nedovoljnog prostora je izučavan najčešće s aspekta pohrane, u smislu adekvatne zaštite, skladištenja i prezentacije arhivskog materijala. U ovom trenutku, kapaciteti pohrane Arhive situirani su na četiri različite lokacije. U trenutnim uvjetima, puni razvoj institucije nije moguć, pa su, stoga, neka moguća rješena predstavljena. Among crucial problems in the work and development of Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, insufficient space was always the most accute and it is still unsolved today. Since the Archives is the multifunctional institution, that is the most important issue from the professional point of view, because it have direct impact on Archives’ activities and achievements. Insufficient space problem is examined mainly as as the storage problem, in term of proper protection, storage and presentation of archive materials. At the moment, storage capacities of the Archives are situated in four different locations. In the present conditions, the full development of the institution is not possible, so some of achievable solutions are presented.
