Contribution to Derviš M. Korkut biography

Summary/Abstract: U historiografiji Derviš M. Korkut je prepoznat kao čuvar poznate sarajevske Hagade tokom Drugog svjetskog rata ili kao osoba koja je primila čarter Righteous Among Nations Yad Vashem centra. U njegovu čast, prezentovane su manje poznate činjenice iz njegovog života. Vezani su za njegov edukacijski period i prve godine kao zaposlene osobe do 1929., referirajući se na dokumente iz ličnog dosjea koji su čuvani u Arhivi Bosne i Hercegovine. Iz ovih dokumenata naučili smo o Korkutovoj edukaciji, njegovom radu u školama, u Ministarstvu religije, u državnom muzeju i o njegovoj kooperaciji sa brojnim magazinima. In historiography Derviš M. Korkut is mostly recognised as the saver of famous Sarajevo Haggada from the State Museum at the beginning of WWII or as the person who received the Righteous Among Nations charter from Yad Vashem center. In this contribution, less known facts from Korkut’s life are presented. They are related to his education period, and his first years as an employee untill 1929, according to the documents from the personal dossier, which were kept in Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. From these documents we learn about Korkut’s education, his work in schools, in Ministry of Religion, in State Museum and his cooperation with a number of magazines.
