Summary/Abstract: This article attempts an analysis of the Yakut model of the formation of the literary tradition in the early twentieth century. Despite the reliance on oral tradition, the emerging literature is developing in other way from the very beginning, fundamentally differently from folklore. The subjects of the work include the process of separation of the Yakut newly created written literature from folklore, its separation from the oral tradition and the related early phase of development of literature. In this case, the Yakut material of early literature is intentionally analyzed in typological perspective of transition from oral to written traditions, from folklore to literature.
