Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the research of evaluation of test results of the pupils of 9th-12th grade participating in the chemistry olympic competition. According to this evaluation the participants are divided into four groups. It was identified that most of participants of the chemistry olympic competition are in the fourth – higher level group and not so many – in the first (the lower level) one. The research showed that the results of boys are better than the results of girls. The comparison of the living place showed that participants of the chemistry olympic competition living in cities achieve better results then ones living in smaller towns. The worst evaluation was of the tests based on two cognitive levels: analysis and evaluation. It is claimed that – while preparing the pupils to participate in the chemistry olympic competition it is necessary to bear in mind the evaluation of their knowledge and skills, ability to synthesis, to teach them to the tasks into different parts. It is identified that if the teacher while preparing the pupils to participate in the chemistry olympic competition teaches them to solve tasks of different cognitive levels, it is possible then to improve their critical thinking. It is stated that it is important to educate active memory of competition participants, which is necessary to do exercises. Refering to the results of the research the conclusion is made that applying supplementary teaching of chemistry in compulsory schools it is possible to consolidate and develop the common attitude of education of pupils participating in the chemistry olympic competition which determines achievements of participants.
