Research on the Fortresses of Lower Antiquity and the Middle Ages in the Drini i Bardhe Basin

Summary/Abstract: The valley of the river Drini i Bardhë comprises a large geographic - ethnographic area, known as Rrafshi i Dukagjinit. This area is surrounded by the mountainous region of Podgori and the Bjeshkët e Nëmura, to the north, to the west by the mountainous region of Gjakova and Hasi, to the south by the mountains of Sharri and to the east by the mountains of Drenica. The river Drini i Bardhë and its numerous tributaries have shaped here a geographical landscape favorable to live, which played an important role in the ancient history of this region.
