Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the collection of seven short stories Apokryfy pro kočku (Apocrypha for Cat, 1996) by Milan Badal. The short stories transform chosen biblical themes and historical topics (mostly of church history) in apocryphal way. They show in humorous tone – usány irony, sarcasm, hyperbole, mystifi cation, paradox tec. – that the cats are maybe the most important figures of our history and the main causes of many events. Badal’s apocrypha stories have also second, more serious meaning: they give hidden evidence of our sins, indulgences and imperfections.
