Summary/Abstract: For almost half a century, religion was excluded from the public life in Romania by the socialist regime. The fall of the regime created opportunities for public manifestation of religiosity and opened the way for religious education and missionary activities. Debates on religious topics in the media, the setting up of formal religious education in public schools and the liberalization of the religious market opened space for religious revival in everyday life.
