Summary/Abstract: Applied theatre and drama is a relatively new and rapidly developing interdisciplinary field, which uses theatre and drama for extra-theatrical purposes. These purposes are: personality development, education, community building, therapy, social or political change. This article is an outline of the development, characteristics, purposes, spheres of activity and main forms of applied theatre and drama.
