Summary/Abstract: The emergence of intolerance towards LGBT people is often the subject of debate and criticism. However, the intolerance demonstrated by some gay activists - especially in societies where the LGBT movement is strong - not only towards critics of the gay movement, but also to persons thinking differently about a „gay issue“, is little studied phenomenon. In this article author, first, presented some typical cases of such intolerance, and then discussed two distinctive explanations for this behavior. Both explanations are evaluated, and, in conclusion, author once again pledged, at the methodological level, for the pluralist approach and multicausative model of explanation, and, in the field of social policy, for the full accepting of mutual tolerance in opinions and in value standpoints.
