Contribution to the history of Albanian literature in the period of the Ottoman Empire

Summary/Abstract: References to Albanian literature and its creators are meagre in the Bosnianspeaking area. The only work known to us is the brief paper by Hasan Kaleši, dating from 1957, which made no reference to many names that are significant for the genesis and development of Albanian literature. This paper is an attempt to deal with writers from Albania active during the Ottoman period. It is by no means exhaustive, for only by compiling epic and alhamiado literature in particular, and translating it into Bosnia, would it become possible also to study Bosniac-Albanian culture relations, particularly in the 19th century.
