Comparative Phrasemes from the Perspective of Corpus Linguistics and Lexicography

Summary/Abstract: The phrases with the comparators wie or als are quite frequent in German and can be classified in a number of ways. One of the primary groups are phraseological comparisons. Their inclusion in a dictionary depends on their nature, frequency and the type of the respective dictionary. It is argued here that lexicographic description of these phrases is to be leant on empirical data as offered by large electronic corpora.
