Vocational education in Cracow at the turn of the decade 1945–1955

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the reconstruction of vocational education in Cracow which took place in the years 1945–1955. Organisational transformations in existing schools and the reform of 1951 carried out by the Central Office of Vocational Training are thoroughly discussed. The text contains a presentation of exact characteristics of the different types of schools, from the industrial schools to the vocational and technical schools. A lot of attention has also been devoted to the discussion of the issues concerning teaching and education and the development of their material base.
