Summary/Abstract: Problem finding is described as behaviours, attitudes and cognitive processes which guide vision creation and problem formulation. Problem finding is in opposition towards behaviors, attitudes and processes taking part in problem solving (Jay, Perkins 1997). Problem finding consists of knowledge processes connected with perception, formulation and reformulation of problem questions. The basis of such processes are: curiosity and constructive cognitive anxiety caused by a problematic situation or an intellectual, emotional or practical task, immanent motivation and problem sensibility. Our future depends on future engineers. Therefore it is very important to shape this problem sensibility, cognitive anxiety and immanent motivation in students from technical universities. In the context of such reflections, the author conducted an analysis of 66 theses from the Faculty of Organisation and Management (Łódź University of Technology) from the point of view of formulation and reformulation of cognitive problems.
