Summary/Abstract: In The Idea of Public Reason Revisited John Rawls is coming up with a new issue in his theory – religion. He is trying to put comprehensive doctrines, both secular and religious, aside, and make a common ground for political discussion in public reason. Arguments that should be made in public reason are to be such, that all reasonable citizens might understand them. This does not destroy religion, on the contrary, that is the only way for that number of religions to flourish together, one next to other. The idea of public reason has to do with how questions should be decided, but not with what are the good reasons or correct decisions.
