Summary/Abstract: The paper, based on the results of a representative survey, analyzes the experience of the Hungarian adult population gained so far regarding e-government services. Besides general and specific knowledge about online administration (e.g., Client Gate, digital signature), the authors have explored service-related attitudes, current usage of existing e-government services, and expectations for future diffusion of e-administration facilities. By means of a multiple analysis method, they defined a complex index comprising these indicators, with the help of which the population can be classified into 5 main groups according to their „digital maturity” in this respect.
