Summary/Abstract: The article examines the reasons, events and results of the internal political confrontation between Tver and Kashin in the 13th-15th centuries. Manoeuvring between the interests of the Horde, Moscow and Lithuania, Tver upholded its independence and suppressed the internal faction, having saved the special status of Kashin.
