Transformations in the structure of local economy in the city of Legnica in the years 2005-2009

Summary/Abstract: The article, starting from the theoretical basis of understanding and functioning of the category of” local economy” and the typology of economic structures, gets to the structural and functional analysis of local economy of the city of Legnica. The author has made an attempt to approach the components of economy of Legnica in line with the methodology of the Polish Classification of Activities – PKD 2004. There are shown the dominant segments and sectors of the local economy, changes in trends during the research, as well as the active role of the local government during the period of economic transition processes in the city.
