Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to explain the origins and reasons for the hostility towards Russian Orthodox Church as recorded in Polish 19th century novels. Even though the feud has a historical background and is no longer present. the memory of it casts a shadow over the Catholic and Orthodox Church.
