Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to describe connections of collective numerals with nouns in 17th century. The analysis is based on materials extracted from files of {Dictionary of Polish language of 17th and the first half of 18th century}. The research shows that in the analysed century collective numerals very often functioned as cardinal numerals (although not so often as in 16th century). Collective numerals appeared rarely instead of other types of numerals. Source documents show that in 17th century collective numerals more and more often occurred in contexts connected with groups of different sex, with immature creatures, with defective nouns (without the singular or the plural), or with nouns which exist in pairs (a pair of glasses). Therefore, we can say that in the 17th century connections of collective numerals werefinally shaped. On the other hand, irregular character of collective numerals caused gradual disappearance of this part of speech.
