Quo Vadis, Lexicographia Paedagogica?

Summary/Abstract: The article concerns various aspects of pedagogical lexicography. It presents origins of a monolingual language dictionary for language learners. It also discusses its characteristic features, at the level of macro- and microstructure such as the excerption of lexical entries, their definitions, presentations of morphological information and syntax structures, collocations etc. The paper shortly presents shortcomings of Polish language learners’ dictionaries and emphasizes the need of compiling a new dictionary which would be more learner oriented and learner friendly.
