At the sources of the Leningrad-Petersburg school of intelligentsia studies: Boris Ivanovich Sandin

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to B. I. Sandin's contribution to research of the Soviet intelligentsia. The author shows the main stages of life and creative search of the scientist. Features of his work with the pupils are shown. The conclusion is that Sandin's works made the foundation of the Leningrad, and, subsequently, the Petersburg school of intelligentsia studies. The article is based on available documentary sources, and also on V. S. Volkov's personal memoirs and memoirs of other pupils of the Leningrad historian
