Summary/Abstract: There are various kinds of plural markers in Estonian. Seven plural markers are in use in the dialects of Estonian: i-plural, strong-grade i-plural, de-plural, e-plural, contaminated de-plural, si-plural and a-plural. The present article will survey the strong-grade i-plural, which is based on the plural genitive. This plural does not occur in monosyllabic words, only in bi- and polysyllabic nouns.
