Summary/Abstract: The text is directed to the particular analysis of the identity parameters of the Slovak community in Bulgaria. It starts from a debate question about the interdisciplinary scientific legibility and audibility and makes precise certain terms. In fact the analysis comes to the formulation of the thesis about the existence of a specific manifestation of community consciousness which can be called ‘bi-identity’. The essence of ‘bi-identity’ is in the fact that a certain community formed as it is in any ethnic environment under specific circumstances, namely in a foreign ethnic surrounding, preserves the awareness of its identity not only in the coexistence with the host community but with the parent community as well (in the case of re-immigration).
