Summary/Abstract: The Dream-book of Smiling Soul by Vitomir Lukić is a collection of stories established on the writer’s understanding of human dream poetics. Starting from primordial dreams as the collective experience of humankind, Lukić afterwards applied their kinetics and elementary situations to personal and family dreams, the images of which, despite fantasy, are closer to real life because people participate in them. At the same time family house is like a being, the metaphor of mother and refuge . However, the collection finishes with an apocalyptic epilogue in which the world as a symbolic human house is falling down from the cosmic heights to the stinking pit. Negative utopia in dream warns embarrassingly about the thin boundary between human culture and the loss of every sanctity. Dreams are the correction of humanity, and the dreamer gets out from them as a winner of all transformations.
