Summary/Abstract: Konrad H. Jarausch and Martin Sabrow (eds), Die historische Meistererzdhlung: Deutungslinien der deutschen Nationalgeschichte nach 1945. Gottingen: Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht 2002, 255 pages. This volume of papers was given during the Conference of German Historians in Aachen in 2002 in the section called 'Conjuctures and Crises in National Metanar¬rative Histories'. The discussion was led about the types of metanarrative history which have affected the historical interpretation in both parts of Germany after 1945 (East German history based on the Marxist interpretation vs. nationalist historio¬graphy and the theory of Sonderweg in West Germany).
