Summary/Abstract: The author wrote this text at the beginning of the 1970s when he was forced to leave his post of a director of the Institute of History of the Communist Party of Czecho¬slovakia, which he headed since 1963. He reflects on the 1960s political situation and the key circumstances surrounding the conference.
