Summary/Abstract: The Communist totalitarian regime did its utmost to enclose both its enemies and members of its own organs of repression within an impenetrable wall of isolation. Every eff ort to breach that blockade was regarded negatively, and the reaction of state and party bodies was oft en aggressive and incommensurate to the situation. Miroslav Kvítek of the political police, whose son signed Charter 77, was no exception.
