Józef Czechowicz’s Alleged Pseudonyms

Summary/Abstract: In late 2008, the Lublin periodical Scriptores published an article by Tomasz Pietrasiewicz devoted to pseudonyms of the Polish avant-garde/catastrophist poet Józef Czechowicz (1903–1939). Mr. Pietrasiewicz offered a few dozen of new, thitherto unknown pseudonyms which the Lublin-based poet (author of nuta człowiecza, among others) was to use in publishing his texts, mainly in the local press. The present article critically analyses these attributive findings. The verification procedure applied has enabled to delete a significant portion of these alleged pseudonyms from the originally suggested pool.
