Summary/Abstract: In this work the author, for the most part based on archival documents of rebel Serbs from Croatia, describes events in the occupied areas of western Slavonia from the time an agreement was reach on 2 December 1994 to open the highway from Zagreb to Lipovac until the liberation of the area and the establishment of legitimate Croatian authority at the beginning of May 1995. Besides the conflicts and events which preceded this and led to it, the author wanted to point to the conditions between the rebel Serbs before, during, and after the battles, as well as their relations with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Serb Republic. By analysis of their interrelations, an attempt was made to ascertain the conditions in the occupied part of the Republic of Croatia, as well as to show and explain the reasons for the Serb demise and their military defeat.
