Summary/Abstract: An application of the term „political system“ is nearly connected with the personality of D. Easton and his poits of view wich came into being on the basis of the impulses from biology, cybernetics (the system theory) and mainly from sociology (T. Parsons and structural-functional approach). There are as minimum four basic directions of the modern political system analysis there: - philosophical approaches (mainly the questions os legitimacy); - sociological approaches (society has to create the functional unity with the political system – Parsons, or the society is dual devided – marxism); - juridical approaches (stressing the rule of law, principles of the legal state, and stressing the human and civic rights); - politological interpretations are oriented to analysis of pluralism, republicanism, parliamentary democracy, separation of power, consensus etc.. The modern political system is characterised by following attributes: connection of democratic and liberal principles (with the principle of national state), representative principle of governance, regular elections, free competition of political parties, majority government responsible to parliament, execution and preservation of natural and special human and civic rights, pluralism, people sovereignty, legitimacy of power on the base of people allovance realization, demonstrativeness and communicativeness of political system.
