"The Purpose of Jesus Christ's Sufferings". Marulić's Third Biblical Poem in Croatian

Summary/Abstract: As Marko Marulić's title poem has not been described or interpreted in critical literature, this is an attempt to define its place in the poetic oeuvre written in Croatian of the "Father of Croatian Literature". Trying to establish the approximate date when the poem was written, the author places it, after its generic features, next to "Judita" and "Susana". He also finds in it elements of the so-called Tears of Our Lady as well as tracers of Marulić's versifying skill.
