Summary/Abstract: For analyzing the school indiscipline phenomenon we had to identify it through a set of specific conducts: delay, absence, chit-chat, noise, refuse to do one's homework, contesting professorial authority, disrespect for teachers. These acts of indiscipline were analyzed considering the pupils' sex and age, as well as the taught discipline. Data were collected by an investigation carried on for five months in six middle and secondary schools from Dakar. The results showed that the teachers' representation on pupils is not built upon the reality and the amplitude of the latter's indiscipline.
