Summary/Abstract: A reconstruction of one essential aspect of Dimitrie Cantemir’s politic thinking will be done: the beginnings of the historic crisis process and of the Ottoman Empire’s decline, simultaneously with the rise, as Big Powers, of the Austrian Empire of the Habsburg Monarchy and the Tsardom of Russia which were in a hard dispute in order to inherit the legacy of the Ottoman Empire (The Sublime Porte). It was underlined the relation between this historic process and the international judicial status of the Romanian Principalities in the limits of what could be called the historical genesis of the Oriental Problem prefigured in his master piece by Dimitrie Cantemir.
