Summary/Abstract: There is an opinion that the process of the "public type" intellectuals disappearance and their assimilation in "intellectuals professionals" has already begun in this area. The typical scientific worker described in this еѕѕаy, is actually, at the proper age, no other person but the young rebellious, unconformable student from the 1968th year. Is Jacoby right saying it is а "historical wittiness" the intellectuals from the irrational, unusual sixties, matured in а professional, "invisible" group. The scientific way of expressing, the language, the feeling for scientific "discipline" and the individual position in it, all these underline the "intellectual ethos" of our time. Does that professionalization truly lead "to privatization or depolitization, to redrawing the intellectual energy from а larger field to а narrowed discipline"?
