Summary/Abstract: In one of his emigration speeches, a well-known Polish historian and public character Joachim Lelevel retold the plots of two literary works which he prescribed to A. S. Pushkin. However, Pushkin and the investigators of his literary works denied the attribution. The article hypothesizes that Pushkin’s message “In the Depths of Siberian Ore…” was one of the possible sources of Lelevel’s stories and also it attempts to reconstruct the possible story of Lelevel’s acquaintance with the content of Pushkin’s message.
