Summary/Abstract: This paper is an analysis of the Romanian communist prisons seen through the eyes of four adepts of the Legionary Movement who were imprisoned because of their belonging to this structure. We were interested in analysing some patterns (reasons for confessing, re-education, relationship with the external world and the prison as a life-experience) that could offer us relevant information concerning the life in communist prisons. The study reflects the human condition in a totalitarian regime.
