Summary/Abstract: “A tower-house is any building whose height is greater than its width.” This basic definition is applicable to any tower-house in architectural history, but regional characteristics and varieties are discernable in different countries and regions. The focus of this article is the Bosnian residential tower-house known as the Kula, built between the 15th and 19th centuries.
