Developmental Unbalances of Housing in Slovakia

Summary/Abstract: Developmental Unbalancies of Housing in Slovakia. The study aims at the problem of developmental unbalancies of housing in Slovakia, and especially at the social aspects of housing. Housing problems are discussed from historical perspective and are presented as the residua of preceding development of housing policy in Slovakia. Inhereted problems still significantly determine the present situation of housing, complicate its transformation, and make the housing one of the most serious social problems. The paper shows the development of housing in the context of changing needs and demands of inhabitants for housing and dwelling environment and possibilities for their satisfaction. It discusses possibilities of solving quantitative and qualitative aspects of housing, formation of flat market and it pays a special attention to the social context of expected changes in the sphere of housing.
