Summary/Abstract: The aim of my intervention is to emphasize Serge Moscovici’s contribution primarily to epistemology. It is based on the following remark: Moscovici started from a general conception of knowledge, linking social representation to other forms of knowledge, science, ideology, world perspective etc. He anticipated the future approaches regarding common sense, establishing a meeting point with the knowledge theories proposing models for a “general epistemology” on common knowledge. This is why I have evoked the climate and the context in which it was published the book that we celebrate today.
