Summary/Abstract: Descendants of the Rosetti family – a celebrated family of lore – were personalities in almost all fields of Romanian public life. Among them, there were family members who had a special vocation to serve the Church; they were church founders and philanthropists, monks who were as devoted and observant of the rules of monasticism as they were hardworking, daring and sacrificing in their efforts to renew souls and build establishments that would be useful to their fellows. Vasile Ruset, a church-founder in Doljeşti, Veniamin Ruset, the bishop of Roman, or the Neamţ monk Irinarh Roset, the founder and renewer of the church whose feast is the Metamorphosis on Tabor Mountain, to name just a few members of the Rosetti family, were persons leading a pure life, whose names are remembered on founder diptychs, on pages of Patericon books or in the chronicles and documents of the age.
