Summary/Abstract: The article presents the significance of designing flexible remuneration systems and related problems, as well as various methods for making remuneration systems flexible and forms of such systems. The mistakes that firms make in their application are also addressed. Most space has been given to the adjustment of remuneration systems to strategic changes taking place in firms. Particular points in the discussion are illustrated with the results of research conducted at various scientific centres, especially those concerning the methods and forms of flexible remuneration used in Polish firms.
